Community Care
Community members experiencing homelessness and those who are at-risk receive guidance on resources to address immediate needs. Volunteers offer compassion and grace-based acceptance, with an emphasis on meeting the people where they are and building an authentic relationship.
Mission Southside
A primary partner organization that refers people in need of assistance to Community Care. Mission Southside offers an array of resources that can be accessed with support from Community Care volunteers. These resources include weekly food distribution, access to shower and laundry facilities, household and hygiene supplies, just to name a few!
Resource Connections
Community Care volunteers help people access resources to help meet their need for food, shelter, and clothing. Volunteers also connect individuals to other supports that can help them address long-term needs
Come to the Table Potluck
Monthly potlucks foster connections among individuals of various ages and backgrounds in our community.
Classes
A variety of classes are offered to all community members that address recovery issues, spiritual growth, life skills, and personal development and enrichment.
Faith Journey
Everyone who makes a connection with Community Care is invited to attend church services, weekly Bible study groups, and other activities.

Mentoring
Matches trained mentors with individuals who wish to focus on personal growth and goal setting.
Mentors offer consistent guidance and encouragement as the mentee works towards achieving personal goals. A formal agreement is established that outlines expectations.

Supported Housing
Grant funded program that requires an application and interview. Program is designed for those who have an established relationship with Life Journey and a demonstrated commitment to personal growth. Those accepted into the program must have a history of being homeless and current risk factors that could make them vulnerable to becoming homeless again.
Offers intensive case management, mentorship, life planning, and incentives. Desired outcomes for the program include stable housing, greater self-sufficiency, and reaching personal milestones.

Kid’s Night Out
Preschool and elementary-aged children participate in enriching activities, including educational and spiritual instruction.
Caregivers, including foster families, receive a much-needed break while their children are in a safe environment.

Summer VBS Art Camp
Each summer a 4-day camp (9am-3pm) is offered and includes an array of art-focused activities and Bible lessons. Snacks and lunch are provided. Camp is accessible to all and is offered at no cost to families and includes preschool and elementary-aged children.
